Bitcoin Struggles to Reclaim $24K as Altcoins Remain Stagnant

by Natalie Christie

The past 24 hours have seen Bitcoin attempt to recover some of its recently lost value, but it has been stopped in its tracks and is back down to $22,300. Ethereum, Ripple, OKB, Cardano, Dogecoin, Polygon, Polkadot, and Shiba Inu are all down slightly, while EOS has lost all of its gains from the previous day. QNT is the only coin that has seen an increase, adding 3% of value and trading close to $130. Despite the losses, the crypto market cap has managed to remain above the $1 trillion line.

The week started out with Bitcoin pushing towards $24,000, and it managed to briefly tap that level on Wednesday. However, the asset was stuck in a range between $23,000 and $24,000 until Friday, when it suddenly plummeted by over $1,000 in minutes and fell to an 18-day low of just under $22,000. The cause of this drop is still being debated by analysts, but it was able to bounce back and reclaim some of its value.

Overall, the crypto market has been relatively stagnant in the past 24 hours, with the majority of coins seeing minor losses. Bitcoin has been unable to break through the $22,300 barrier, and it remains to be seen if it will be able to make a successful recovery in the coming days.
