Founders of Skype and Intercom interested in Cryptocurrency

Bitcoin is fast getting mainstream, and a lot of tech behemoths are attracted towards the most substantial cryptocurrency showing support and affinity towards it.

The founders of Skype and Intercom have joined the bandwagon of Bitcoin fandom following the suite of Square, MicroStrategy, and PayPal.

Bitcoin Goes Mainstream

MicroStrategy invested more than 500 Million from its treasury into Bitcoin this year, and later PayPal incorporated Bitcoin and other digital currencies as a payment method on its global payment platform.

As of now, more than 26 Million merchants are accepting Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies on the PayPal network. The institutional investments have enticed the tech leaders and evangelists to explore cryptocurrencies. 

Intercomm Founder Supports Bitcoin

Eoghan McCabe, the chairman, and co-founder of Intercom openly supported Bitcoin through his tweets. In which he said that he wants everyone to keep and use Bitcoin and encourages people to Hold bitcoin tokens. Motivated by the massive institutional investments in Bitcoin, he wants to explore it even more. However, he said that the company is not yet ready for adoption of the digital assets since the big companies would take several years to adapt to the technology and integrate Bitcoin in its system. He added that “Bitcoin is not fit for us yet”

Cryptocurrencies are going mainstream in a big way, with the global market capitalization reaching 510 billion USD currently.  Bitcoin alone recorded a 237 Percent increase after its record low in March.

Juan Tallin Holds Bitcoin

Skype is the leading telecommunication application that has ruled the video calling and conferencing space for more than a decade. The news of its founder admitting that he secures his assets in cryptocurrency is indeed a great sign for the crypto community. In an exclusive interview with Fortune magazine, Juan Tallinn said that he has a substantial portion of his wealth saved in cryptocurrency. 

Tallinn is a crypto enthusiast, and he has donated an enormous number of crypto tokens for funding programs that focus on the development of programs on AI, etc. He has given away 316,000 worth bitcoins and 43400 USD worth Ethereum on different occasions.

With Bitcoin getting stronger by the day and gaining popularity amongst the leading business and IT faces, it would be interesting to see how it fares in coming times.
