Mexico’s second richest man Ricardo Salinas Pliego has now said that Bitcoin is his best investment.
Ricardo Salinas Pliego Supports Bitcoin
Ricardo Salinas Pliego, one of the most influential figures in Mexico and the president of Grupo Salinas, talked about Bitcoin in an interview with the CoinTelegraph.
Pliego procured his first Bitcoin in 2013, and since then, the price of Bitcoin has grown exponentially. Pliego sold out all the Bitcoin positions for $17000 in 2017 and procured new Bitcoin later. In a recent interview, he exclaimed that Bitcoin was his best investment ever.
He holds more than 10 percent of his liquid money in Bitcoin and is planning to keep that for a longer time. He expressed that he wants to use it for the next five or ten years and is highly optimistic of Bitcoin’s capability to grow substantially, especially in Latin American countries. He said that Bitcoin has the power to make a difference in the debilitating Latin American economies marred by inflation and growing concerns of the falling fiat currencies. He cited the examples of Venezuela, Argentina, where the fiat currencies are collapsing. He added that such conditions are eye-opening.
Ricardo Salinas Pliego is a prominent Mexican businessman with a net worth of more than $12.8 billion as per Forbes and runs Grupo Salinas, a conglomerate of multiple industries like retail, finance, telecom, and entertainment in Mexico. He is also the chairman of TV Azteca, which is the second-largest media company in the country.
He has openly vouched for Bitcoin, saying that the investors would protect their assets against inflation and suggested that Bitcoin is the safest hedge. He said in the interview that “A lot of people ask me if I should invest in Bitcoin. The answer is yes. I am allocating 10% of my wallet to this cryptocurrency ».
Through his Twitter Handle, Salinas repeatedly motivates investors and users to consider Bitcoin and crypto on the whole. He suggests that one must diversify their investments wallet and adjudicated that the paper money is losing its worth and acceptance of digital finance has contributed to the growth of Bitcoin.
