Immutable Games Studio and Mineloader, a premier game development studio, have announced a partnership to develop a Web3 version of the Guild of Guardians role-playing game (RPG). Mineloader has extensive experience in the game industry, having worked on AAA titles such as Last of Us Part 1 and Final Fantasy. This collaboration is part of a shift from Web2 to Web3 gaming and will involve Mineloader enhancing the game’s core gameplay loop and art, as well as new content. Immutable will be responsible for the Web3 components of the game.
The announcement has had a positive effect on Immutable’s native token, IMX, which has seen a 5% gain on the day and a 15% increase over the past week. However, the token is still 88% below its peak price of $9.52 in November 2021. The growth of the Web3 gaming industry and a return of the bull market should see IMX perform well in the future. Guild of Guardians is expected to be released in the final quarter of 2023.
